Rules and Regulations
Age Eligibility: Entrants in junior events are relevant to the age of the player at the end of the month of the entered tournament. For example, 12/under playing in a March tournament. If that player is 12 years of age throughout march, that player is eligible to play in 12/under age group. If that player turns 13 years of age at any point in March, that player is ineligible for 12/under event and must play 14/under.
Entry Closing Date: All entries close at midnight on the 28th day of the month.
Withdrawals: Players who withdraw from an event after the entry closing date ( 28th day of the month prior to entered tournament ) will not be eligible for a refund of entry fees. All entries close on the 28th day of the month.
Entries: No player shall be permitted to enter into more than 2 separate regional events per month. Juniors are permitted to play in a maximum of 2 age categories, one of which may be Open singles.
Balls: Home player is to provide 3 new tennis balls of a recognized brand. (It is advisable that both players carry tennis balls to all matches.)
Courts: Home player is responsible for booking the courts and court payment should be shared.
Matches: All matches will be played using the knockout format and all matches shall be the best of 3 tie break sets. Regular 12 point tie break (first to 7) to be played at 6 games all.
Location and Time: Each player is allocated a home/away status randomly. Home player has the right to play at his/her home venue. This right may be forfeited at the home players discretion and match venue can then be agreed upon by both players. Time of match is to be agreed upon by both players and must be completed by allocated time.
Results Entered Online: It is the responsibility of the winning player to enter his/her results before the allocated deadline. In the event a result was not entered before the deadline that player will forfeit the next round immediately.
Disputes: Players may register a dispute using the online dispute menu. If a player has been under dispute more than 3 times in a 2 month period that player may be refused entry for a cooling off period of 2 months. Disputes will be resolved solely by Playtennis management and all decisions will be final.
Inclement Weather: Will be regarded as a dispute if a match has not been completed due to inclement weather. It will be at the discretion of the tournament management as to how many further days will be permitted to complete the match. It is the responsibility of all players to try and complete their match at the earliest possible time in case of inclement weather.
Open Tiered Events: When a player wins 3 tournaments in the same Tier, he/she is no longer eligible to play in that tier and must progress to the next highest Tier until they reach Tier 1.
Mixed Singles: Male and Female entrants are permitted to enter this category.
